Halloween.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s October 1 as of this writing and those of you who follow the Word Count Podcast know that it is time.  Time for the fourth annual Halloween Special show!<\/span><\/p>\n

I love this time of year\u2014especially in New England where I live.  And the Halloween shows are always a special treat.  Therefore, I\u2019m opening up submissions for episode 43 early to get those creative juices flowing and to perhaps get more than the usual number of submissions!<\/span><\/p>\n

As a special treat, I\u2019ve already invited my Urban Fantasy\/Dark Fantasy\/Horror compatriots from my new blogsite Graveyard Writers<\/a><\/strong> to participate this year!<\/span><\/p>\n

But fear not, dear sinners.  We are also calling for open submissions as well.  The guidelines are below, but the theme for this very spooky special is \u201cGraveyard\u201d and most incorporate the following three words:<\/span><\/p>\n

Cloak.  Knife.  Blood.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

A little about the show:<\/span><\/p>\n

I put together the podcast to feature writers (new and “old hands,” famous and just starting) as a way to get YOUR writing out there.  The show is simple: based on a prompt; you create an original short story and then record yourself reading it.<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s it. No ads, no hard sell.  Just a podcast with great stories. I rely on the contributing writers and fans to promote the hell out of it and we are over 31,000 downloads at this point.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why do I do it?  It’s a hobby.  And I’ve been meeting wonderful authors through the show.  It’s all about networking and friendships.<\/span><\/p>\n

Submission Guidelines (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)<\/span><\/p>\n

GENRE: Any.<\/span><\/p>\n

DEADLINE: I must receive your submission by FRIDAY 24 OCTOBER 2014 at MIDNIGHT Eastern time.<\/span><\/p>\n

 THE DETAILS: The work must be an original work based on the key words:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCloak. Knife. Blood.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And must also involve a graveyard in some way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do NOT exceed SEVEN minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

As this is a podcast, I need to receive a file of YOU, a friend or multiple friends reading (singing or otherwise performing) your work. MP3 FORMAT ONLY, and please attach your MP3 file to an e-mail or contact me for a Dropbox link.<\/span><\/p>\n
