Coming up this week is the only conference I\u2019m able to attend this year \u2013 ReaderCON.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s my favorite of all the conferences\u2014not just because it\u2019s local to me in Boston, but also because– despite the large attendance– it has an intimate feel to it. Both the famous and unknown in the writing world (and of course I fall into the latter category\u2014for the moment. \ud83d\ude09 ) get to mingle, listen to a myriad of panels dedicated to the craft of storytelling\/writing and enjoy each other\u2019s company.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s intense, exciting and unbelievably educational.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, I attended for the first time. The only person at the conference I\u2019d met prior to attending the conference was James Morrow\u2014the award winning Science Fiction author.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with time spent with Jim, I made a lot of friends last year. I hope to reconnect to those folks when I get to the Burlington Marriott.<\/span><\/p>\n

But this year will be different for two reasons.<\/span><\/p>\n

One, because I know people who are going. People I met last year as well as friends I\u2019ve made in the writing world since I attended last years\u2019 con.<\/span><\/p>\n

And two, because I\u2019m no longer a \u2018wannabe\u2019 but a \u2018soon to be published\u2019 author.<\/span><\/p>\n

Three days in the company of fellow writers. Been looking forward to this all year.<\/span><\/p>\n
