\"Readerconlogo\"In less than a week\u2019s time I\u2019ll be attending the only writerly conference I\u2019ll be able to get to this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m talking about, of course, ReaderCON.  ReaderCON 24, to be exact.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be writing my daily semi-streaming blog during the con (for past con coverage see here<\/a> and here<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n

\"2012-07-15_11.41.08\"I love getting together with writers\u2014we are a weird bunch and it is the only time out of the year where I can embrace what I want to be\u2014a full time storyteller.<\/span><\/p>\n

In past ReaderCONs, many friends have joined me.  Leah Petersen has actually stayed with my wife and I a couple of times in order to attend.  And two years ago a group of the old \u2018Pubwrite\u2019 team descended on the con\u2014inclusive of the lovely Karen Delabar to whom the \u2018Orange Karen\u2019 anthology I was a part of was dedicated to.<\/span><\/p>\n

Old friends will be back\u2014Peter Dub\u00e9, Liz Gorinsky, <\/b>Yves Meynard, Glenn Skinner, James Morrow, and many others will be on hand and I can already taste the bourbon and hear the laughter.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is, for the most part, a wonderful experience.  Last year\u2019s issues have been corrected\u2014and addressed.  At least to the point that I look forward to this and future ReaderCONs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"meandjim\"That aside\u2014the excitement builds.  I\u2019ve checked off the panels and parties I want to attend and maybe\u2014just maybe\u2014I\u2019ll find my writer mojo again and get my next book out this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the blog, there is the blurb from The Young Practitioner<\/i> (Book 2 of The Arcana Chronicles) so make sure you hound me to finish\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway\u2014next weekend I get to be a writer fulltime.  I like those weekends.<\/span><\/p>\n
