Simply put, a theme for each show is announced via this site, Twitter and Facebook and writers are given a week or two to write AND RECORD their stories based on said theme.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>Why?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Why not, says I. It\u2019s a great way to practice writing and public speaking. It\u2019s another way for writers to get their work \u201cout there.\u201d And I love to meet fellow authors and have a blast putting the show together. It\u2019s just that simple.<\/p>\n<p><em>Okay. Garriepy<\/strong> is the author of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/DamselflyInnEbook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Damselfly Inn<\/a>\u00a0(the first of<br \/>\nthe Thornton Vermont Trilogy) and a champion of emerging writers and\u00a0independent authors everywhere. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bannerwingbooks.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bannerwing Books<\/a>, a small<br \/>\nindependent press and publishing services company, and was previously a\u00a0Managing Editor at <em>Write on Edge<\/em>, where she curated <em>Precipice: The\u00a0Literary Anthology of Write on Edge<\/em> as an annual spotlight for short\u00a0fiction and memoir writers. You know? Like, what? Maybe. Grrraaaaarghhh.<br \/>\nAnd now for the weather.<\/p>\n<p>Freezing temperatures, frigid eerie conditions and off peak howling gales.\u00a0But enough about my home life. Perhaps I did over step the mark. Maybe\u00a0sometimes I go too far, I dangle my good nature over the precipice of good\u00a0taste and good god but it&#8217;s a long way down. So I try to reel myself in,\u00a0honest I do. But sanity isn\u2019t my forte. Neither is reason for that matter.<br \/>\nOh, you don\u2019t want to hear what I did. You don\u2019t need to hear my horrific\u00a0sob story. Why would you want to hear me repeat the damnable thing I said?<\/p>\n<p>Who can it help now? And it was wrong, by gods it was filthy. I\u2019m<br \/>\nshuddering even now. But that might be because I\u2019m sitting outside my front\u00a0door in a pair of heavily worn socks and Sponge Bob Speedos as ice rains\u00a0down from Valhalla. And the language. Wow, that\u2019s all I\u2019ll say. How does\u00a0one even fit \u2018crevice\u2019 and \u2018turgid proboscis\u2019 into a sentence of only six\u00a0words without expecting repercussions? It&#8217;s madness. And that was but the\u00a0start. A simple heart-warming joke about\u2014never mind. I shall say no more\u00a0and bother you no further. Adieu dear reader, adieu. And should you find<br \/>\nthese words, digitised in some form and locked within the alien mind of\u00a0this far fangled electronic lap suitable finger tap operated device. And\u00a0said device is protruding from my anus. Know this. For what I said god\u2019s\u00a0love and hold me- I deserve better. Because I am better than you people.<\/p>\n<p>Most of you people, like 90% at least. Unless Neil deGrasse Tyson pops his\u00a0clogs before I do. Then it&#8217;s more like 98% better. Build a statue to my\u00a0name. Carve my face into some poor unsuspecting mountain and gaze lovingly\u00a0on it. For I am your better and you should never be allowed to forget that.<\/p>\n<p>But seriously, the joke was hideous so I probably did deserve it. Wow. I am\u00a0a bad person.
